Babar (clan)
Babar is a Maratha clan, found largely in Maharashtra, India.
Origins
Little of known of the Babar prior to the rule of Maratha king Shivaji, when they became associated with the Maratha cavalry. The name Babar was a title conferred upon them by the emperor Babur.
